A 200-year-old System of Medicine
Dr Samuel Hahnemann (1755 – 1843), a German medical doctor and scholar, developed a system of medical practice in the late 18th century. illusioned with the medical doctrines, harmful effects of medicine and treatments adopted in his era, Dr. Hahnemann pursued the research and development of homeopathy. Today, Homeopathy is a form of holistic medicine used by many worldwide to treat both acute and chronic conditions.
The principle that Hahnemann applied to Homeopathy was that “like cured like”, or the Principle of Similars. By observing the symptoms produced in a healthy person who had taken a large amount of a substance, he and his fellow scientists found that Homeopathy could heal someone sick with similar symptoms by using a potentised – effectively a highly diluted – version of the same substance.

Why Homeopathy?
It is the Second most used Medicine in the world!
According to the World Health Organisation, homeopathy is the second most widely used system of medicine in the world today. Used by over 200 million people on a regular basis, in more than 50 countries around the world!
It is an extremely effective and low cost system of medicine. For that reason it is included in the national health systems of a number of countries e.g. Brazil, Chile, India, Mexico, Pakistan, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
EUROPE
100 million EU citizens, some 29% of the EU’s population, use homeopathic medicines in their day-to-day healthcare. Homeopathy is practised in 40 out of 42 European countries. In France and Germany it accounts for over 40% of prescriptions from medical doctors.
UK
10% of people in the UK use homeopathy. That is about 6 million people. England it is protected by a royal charter. This was as a result of it’s dramatic success in an outbreak of plague in the 1800’s. In the NHS there are approximately 400 doctors working within the homeopathic service. And there are about 1,500 professional homeopaths (not doctors) in the UK.
INDIA
India leads in terms of number of people using homeopathy. 100 million people depending solely on it for their medical care. There are over 200,000 registered homeopathic doctors, with approximately 12,000 more being added every year.
